Graphite is brittle, abrasive, and conducts electricity — it requires dedicated CNC equipment, tooling, and dust-extraction systems to machine safely and accurately. Expo Advanced Materials operates a specialist graphite machining facility in New Delhi equipped for CNC turning, milling, boring, threading, and grinding to tolerances as tight as ±0.01 mm. ISO 9001:2015 certified throughout.

| CNC milling | 1,200 × 800 × 500 mm | ±0.05 mm |
| CNC boring | Bore dia 5–600 mm | ±0.02 mm |
| Threading (graphite) | M6 to M80, NPT to 2″ | 3B / 3A class |
| Surface grinding | 600 × 400 mm | ±0.01 mm |
| Slotting / pocketing | Min slot 0.5 mm wide | ±0.02 mm |
Graphite Grades We Machine
- Isostatic graphite — IG-11, IG-110, IG-430U, TTK-8, and fine-grain HP grades. All in-house billet stock.
- Extruded graphite — EG-grade and dense extruded for large components and casting dies.
- CFC (Carbon Fibre Composite) — Woven and non-woven CFC panels, tubes and preforms machined to component geometry.
- Carbon-graphite — For sealing, bearing, and brush applications.
- Customer-supplied material — We machine from blanks you supply if your process requires a specific qualified-source material.
Quality Inspection
Every component is inspected on a Mitutoyo coordinate measuring machine (CMM) or digital height gauge as appropriate to the drawing. Inspection reports showing actual vs. nominal dimensions are included with every shipment. For critical aerospace or semiconductor components, first-article inspection (FAIR) reports are available.
What Makes Graphite Machining Different
- Graphite is abrasive — only diamond or carbide tooling maintains accuracy
- Graphite is brittle — clamping forces must be controlled to prevent cracking
- Graphite dust is electrically conductive and a respiratory hazard — dedicated dust extraction is mandatory
- Graphite cannot use coolant — dry machining only, requiring thermal management by toolpath strategy
Our facility is dedicated exclusively to graphite and carbon machining. We do not run metals on the same machines, eliminating cross-contamination risk for high-purity semiconductor and solar PV applications.
How to Get a Quote
Send your drawing (PDF, DXF, STEP, or IGES), specify the graphite grade required (or describe the application and we recommend), and give required quantity. We confirm feasibility, lead time, and pricing within 24 hours. Prototypes from 1 piece; production runs from 10 pieces.
